SPRING BREAK

We worked very hard since returning from our winter break and we finally made it to spring break! Now if we could just see some spring-like weather!

There will be no spelling words sent home today. The kids will get their new lists when we return on March 22. For those in Wordly Wise, you'll have to plan accordingly that week in order to get the assignments completed with the additional homework for the week. Normally, Wordly Wise activities are due Friday however; the week of March 22 they will have until Friday to complete the work.

I will not be sending math books or reading comprehension books home for homework however; if they choose to bring their books home please correct as they go. At this point, they should be doing most of the work independently or with little assistance.

For homework over break each student has 4 Time Magazines to read and complete the work on the back in addition to a Brainpopjr. worksheet regarding how much water they use in one day. All assignments are due on Monday, March 22. If you are seeking more work for your child have him/her keep a journal of their spring break.

Enjoy your break and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Melissa

Week of February 22

What a busy week we had in Group 1! We are still working on writing poems, the kids brought their acrostic poems home with them on Thursday and they were very proud of their work! I was amazed to see all the wonderful adjectives and words to describe them! We will spend a few more weeks working on poetry during writing.

All the snow we got on Tuesday led to great sledding during recess. Some kiddos had to stay in for lunch study though because they were not dressed appropriately for the cold weather. Please make sure to send in hats, gloves/mittens, coats, boots, and even a dry outfit in case they get wet while playing outside.
